  December 4th-10th

Computer Science Education Week is quickly approaching (Dec 4-10) and all the PKES students are participating once again in the Hour of Code!!! In most grade levels, we will code from November through January (or even longer). Here are some websites/apps that your child can do at home and a list of the top 2017 robots out right now (in case you need some gift ideas)! https://hourofcode.com/us/learn

We will be using Ozobots, Dash and Dots, LEGO WeDo and Spheros during Technology Class :)

Also, I am looking for parents or community members who are in a computer science field and would be interested in joining us during Technology (or even doing a Google Hangout) to tell us a little about what you do in your career field.

Other ideas:
Talking about the limitless possibilities in Computer Science Explaining ways that technology impacts our lives (saving lives, helping people, connecting people, etc.)
Listing things that use code in everyday life.

If you are interested, please send me an email and we can schedule a time for you to join us! Happy Coding!

Nov. 7-16 Boosterthon

Attention parents: This year’s main fundraiser is the Panther Pride Fun Run!

It’s an 8-day program that kicks off with a pep rally. Families will then gather pledges for every lap your student  runs (30-35 laps), and we’ll celebrate at the

Fun Run on Thursday, Nov. 16. With our big goal of raising  $30,000 for needs

such as school software, student agendas and supplies, and a new LED marquee, we asked the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon to power our Fun Run and make it more profitable, easier, and fun. Students will also experience an amazing character theme, CASTLE QUEST, an English castle theme all about being brave and living with character. On their quest to regain Bravemore Castle, students will learn the “SIX VIRTUES of a TRUE HERO” from a cast of colorful characters.
