Panther Pop punch card orders

Panther Pops punch cards are on sale now!
Keep the Panther Pops tradition going this year with a punch card! The cost is $21 and you’ll get one punch card for the year, redeemable for a Panther Pop each month from October through April (redeemable at the Bruster’s Hwy. 160 location only).
What is a Panther Pop? It’s a blue, icy treat (lemon also available) made by our local Bruster’s and the sales help PTO raise funds for projects through the year (teacher lunches, outdoor beautification, supplies).
To order, log on to our website and go to the shop tab. Your first log-in of the year will prompt you to update your student’s grade and teacher. If this is your first time on the website, once you’ve registered you’ll have to fill out your family information in order to shop.
Virtual Academy students, students doing another type of schooling, or families that want to order for older/younger children that want to participate, we will get your punch cards to you.
It’s going to be a different year, but let’s keep the Panther Pops tradition for our Panthers!

Where does our Boosterthon money go?

Thank you Panther families for an amazing fall fundraiser, reaching $47,000 in pledges! We'd like to share a little about where that money is going this year.

Every year, the PKES PTO gives $20,000 from our Boosterthon funds straight back to the school for educational licenses and materials. Here's a breakdown of how that $20,000 fund was spent this year:

Literacy Footprints kits for the classrooms: $10,350.00

Benchmark assessment systems: $5,948.13

Units of study for teaching reading series: $1,966.77

Units of study for teaching reading video orientations: $1,966.77 subscriptions: $1,604.19

This October, PTO also allocated $10,000 in PTO funds to assist with software for the implementation of the house system and expenses for 7 PKES staff members to attend professional development in New York City with authentic implementations of the units of study in reading and writing across all grade levels. While there, the teachers also attended sessions at The Teachers College during their Reading and Writing Reunion hosted by Columbia University.

Other things Boosterthon money goes to — along with all other PTO fundraising — includes: the veterans breakfast, Red Ribbon week, career day, field day, extracurricular requests from teachers and administration — such as our $3,900 cafeteria mural installed over the summer — annual extra funding for related arts classrooms and special needs classrooms, monthly staff luncheons and other teacher appreciation efforts, and more.
